8.0 GREASETRAP LIDSETS

Havestock greasetrap lids are constructed by joining single gas-tight covers together. As a result, the greasetrap lids exhibit the same performance characteristics as the range of single access covers and frames.
These covers are mainly used on precast concrete grease interceptor traps. Greasetrap covers are available for the complete range of Everhard precast greasetraps.
Havestock greasetrap lids are available from all Everhard branches :
Havestock greasetrap lids are fully gas-tight and are also available with brass edges, inspection peep eyes and retaining bolts. Greasetrap lids are now available in the traditional and solid Litelift styles which do not require any infilling.
Installation of Greasetrap Lids
It is important to install greasetrap lids so that the unit is gas-tight when complete. This is achieved with the following recommended installation method.
Class A lids - collar must be 100mm deeper than the frame.
Class C lids - collar must be 150mm deeper than the frame and must have 12R deformed bar reinforcing at 150mm centres.
Installation Steps
Important ~
1. Install the lid and/or collar to
the tank, making sure the lid is laying flat and square to the
tank
~ do not remove installation bolts or covers at this stage.
2. Ensure the frame is fully supported undeneath with concrete.
3. Concrete or grout the frame into position and allow to cure ~ do not fill the lids yet.
4. After curing, remove installation bolts and fill the covers with concrete.
5. At least 20 Mpa cement should be used for the lid to realise it's full strength potential.
Remember :
Installation bolts must not be removed until the frame has been concreted into position and the concrete cured. Installation bolts must be removed prior to filling the covers or else the lids will be permanently fixed to the frame.
Once the covers have been filled, all surfaces should be cleaned and heavy grease applied to the mating surfaces before returning the covers to their original position.
